A disciplined batting and bowling performance by the Rajastan Royals paved the way for their defeat of the Kings XI Punjab. Faiz Fazal and Adam Voges were the the stars of the Rajastan Royals batting and Yusuf Pathan also made a contribution. Munaf Patel and Trivedi bowled well for Shane Warne's team. Shaun Tait and Yusf Pathan chipped in as well causing the collapse of the King's XI Punjabs, batting. Sangakkara and Bisla started well and gave the King's XI good opening start but the RR was just too good

. Fernando Torres opened the scorecard for Liverpool and shortly after that wayne Rooney was back on the scoreboard with his equaliser for manchester United.

Ji Sung park was once again the Red's hero with a great header tha took them into the led and at the top.

Blackburn Rovers held Chelesea to a one all draw and this now place them four points away from Man U , however they still have a game on hand . Didier Drogba scored the opener for the Blues and late in the second half Diouf headed in the equaliser for Blackburn

Fulham fresh from their Europa win, were defeated by Manchester City and the hero of the fans was again Carlos Tevez. This win now strengthens their fight for fourth place and also a crack at Champions league next season

Arsenal 2 - 0 Westham

Arsenal occupy top spot for a short while after defeating Westham by 2 goals to nothing , however this spot may just be temporarily since both Manchester United and Chelsea have to play their games as well. Denilson scored early giving the young gunners well deserved early lead however they were later reduced to 10 men after Vermeulen was sent off for a professional foul and Alumina saved the penalty which may have changed the outcome of the game. He has since being at the top of his game. Fabergas in the last ninutes of the game scored from the penalty spot thus strenthening the win for the Gunners

Portsmouth 3 -2 Hull City

Kanu snatched a last minute dramatic win for Pompey in their match played against Hull City. This win however still leaves at the botton of the log after 9 points were deducted from them

Everton 2 - 0 Bolton Wanderers

Steven Pienaar was on the scoreboard again and helped Everton collect maximum points against Bolton and this win incresed their succesive home wins to seven.

Sunderland 3 - 1 Birmingham City

Sunderland moved to twelfth spot against a great win against Birmigham City . darren bent scored a double and this will surely strengthen his position for a final callup to the English squad.

Stoke City 1 - 2 Tottenham Spurs

Harry Reddnapp was elated with a fine win by Spurs against Stoke CIty and this win will surely allow him with a great chance of strenthening his position at fourth spot, although this is going to be tough with Liverpool and Manchester City luking on his footsteps

Aston Villa 2 - 2 Wolves

Villa's ambitions of gaining fourth spot is slowly moving away from and this was worsen by their draw against Wolves. Martin O'neill is averry worried man at the moment.

Wigan Atheletic 1 - 0 Burnley

Wigan manged to collect all three points with a late goal scored by Hugo Rodakega.

Shane Warne's charges won their first game against the Kolkata Knightriders in a thrilling match and he was indeed very pleased at how well his boys are starting to improve on thier game and we can now anticipate more wins

The Knightriders left it for too late and they did not really attack the bowling of the Rajastan Royals, their batting was very conservative which actually cost them the match. They had a great start winning the first two games but have now lost two on the trot.

Jacques Kallis was the Man of Man for his great batting against the Mumbai Indians and together with Manish Pandey put on a nice opening partnership for the Royal Challengers. This win take them to the top of the table and Anil Kumble was indeed very happy.

Sachin Tendular 's team mates were not just at their peak today and apart from his small knock, the rest of the batsmen failed to put any good batting. Zahir Khan tried as well with his little knock

Delhi Darevils won the 6th IPL3 match against the Rajastan Royals by 6 wickets with a splendid batting performance by Virendra Sewag Shane Warne's charges are not as good as they were during the opening IPL season when they won against all odds but have not performed well in the IPL 2 and are not doing so well now.

jacques Kallis, the South African allrounder played a quality innings and together with Manish Pandey and Robin Uttapa were instrumental in the defeat of the King's XI Punjab.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni and S Badrinath's superb batting performance gave the Chennai Superkings a great victory ovet the Kolkata Knightriders. The KK's batting collapsed which made it impossible or them to win three on the trot.

Gautam Gamhir may have erred when after winning the toss, he elected to field against the Mumbai Indians. Sachin tendulakar was again on top of his game and with e likes of Manoj Tiwary and Rayudu wre just too good for the Delhi Darevils.

Praveen Kumar's first hattrick for the IPL 2010 was the main cause for the collapse of the Rajastan Royals batting performance. Jacques Kallis and Manish Pandey were again the pick of the Royal Challengers batsmen.

The Chennai Superkings surprised the bookmakers with their splendid win against the favourite Delhi Daredevils. Delhi won the toss and elected to bat first , scoring 185 for 6. Mathew Hayden was the star of the Chennai Superkings batting and his knock of 93 runs off 43 balls was intrumentals in the win for the Superkings

The younger of the Pathan brother's , Irfan proved that his an allrounder of class with his brillant knock of 60 runs and his good bowling spell, however this could not help as the King's XI lost the match by 6 runs.

he IPL3 kicked off with a grand opening ceremony and all captains were introduced to the massive crowd that had assembled for the ceremony and opening matches. All the captains signed on the banner their commitment to the spirit of cricket.

Kolkata Knight won their match against the Deccan Chargers by 11 runs in a nail bitting finish. Te Charges won the toss but opted to field and had the Kolkata Knightriders under pressure with the fall of two quick wickets, however Owais Shah and Angelo Mathews had other ideas and strengthen the Knightriders inninga with a brave partnership

The second match also ended in a nail biting finish when the Mumbai Indians held to win by 4 runs. The Rajastan Royal well but just could not win thisi one. Yusuf Pathan scored the fastest one hundred.

Ravi Bopara tried to steer his team but to no avail and the Delhi Daredevils beats the King X! Pujab convincinglywith splendid batting by Gautam Ghambir the skipper of the DD’s

The fourth match of the IPL3 was won by the Kolkata Knightriders and again Angelo mathews was the hero with both bat and ball which really pleased Shah Rukh Khan one of the co owners of the KK

Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai Superkings were not match for the Deccan Charges who outplayed them and won the match convincingly.

Arsenals knocked out of the Champions League

Arsenals were eliminated from the Champions League by a gallant performance from Liverpool. Diaby in the 13th min scored for Arsenals who were having the better of the first half. From a brilliant set piece in the 30th minute, Hypia reduced the deficit and Liverpool were now on level terms again. The second half, Liverpool play with more purpose and they were reward wit a fine goal by Torres in the 69th minute. Walcott made a brilliant move and pass the ball onto Adebayor who scored with ease and Arsenals were now level and with the away goal rule , they were in line for a shot at the semi finals.

A minute later , Liverpool were awarded a penalty when what appeared to be a soft foul by Kalo Toure on Babel and Stevan Gerrad scored from the penalty area and Liverpool were now again in the driving seat and this was finally cemented when Babel scored in the 9oth minute and ensured a spot for Liverpool in the semi finals.

In the other match, Chelsea defeated Fenerbache by two goals and opened a spot for them in the semi finals.

Two of the top guns from the Premiership were bundled out from the Fa Cup a great surprise to the two top trainers namely Sir Alex and Avant grant

Portsmouth with a 78th minute penalty by Sulley Muntari gave Portsmouth a smooth passage into the semi finals at Wembley at the expense of Manchester United.

The men from Old Trafford piled on the pressure only to be denied by some excellent goal keeping from David James.

Barnsley used their home ground advantage and stopped the progress of Chelsea and instead booked their place at a spot in the semi's at Wembley.

Liverpool are on the boil at the moment with three wins from three matches and they will be pinned on their recent form to outfox Newcastle today.

Mascherano is out of today's match with an injury to his muscle and the rest of the squad are ok for this match.

Newcastle will be without Joey Barton due to his bail conditions. Further injuries to Viduka, Emre and Carr places Kevin Keegan in a bit of bother since he would like to have a full strength squad against Micheal Owen's old team mates.

The confidence in the Liverpool camp is high at the moment and they will have to win this game and at the same look aft defeating Inter to round up a good ran of form

Birmingham hold Arsenals to a draw

After 3 minutes in the first half, Birmingham were reduced to ten men when their captain Taylor was red carded for a tackle on Eduardo who had to be hospitalized.

Theo Walcott scored two goals which temporarily place the Gunners in command , however a technical mistake by Clichy in injury awarded Birmingham a penalty which resulted in the draw.

Manchester United narrowed the gap when they trounced Newcastle 5 - 1. They now trail Arsenals by three points .

Westham beat Fulham 1 goal to nil. Liverpool register a win at Anfield against Middlesbrough,

Namibia held Guinea to a 1 all draw however Guinea manage to survive and proceed to the next round. The Namibians after their shock first match were nervous and they soon overcame that and played splendid soccer in the next two matches. They will return knowing well that they played well and should be a force in the next tournament.

Ghana maintained their form and are also through to the next round.

The Ivory Coast should coast to the next round when they take on Mali later this evening.

Nigeria will have to ensure that play their best soccer this evening against Benin to have any hope on progressing to the next round.

During the previous days , Samuel E'to equalled the recod of 14 goals and has the chance of increasing his lead and also creating a new record in the games that still have to be played

Bafana Bafana take on Senegal and the Senegalese will be all out to win their match. The South Africans have a lot to do and learn so they will also be packing their bags soon to return home.

The match of the tournament certainly as Guinea survive after defeating Morocco three goals to two. Feindouno scored twice for Guinea however he received an unnecessary red card in the 63rd minute. Bangoura scored the other goal for Guinea.

Aboucherouane and Quaddou scored for Morocco and the Moroccans played extremely well unfortunately the Guineans held on the lead.

The Angolan played a superb game and held on to their after a goal by Manucho scored during the 30th minute of the first half.

The South Africans piled on the pressure during the second half and during the 88th minute were rewarded with a goal scored by Elton van Heerden. This goal surely removed some of the pressure from Carlos Perreira and they will have to ensure that they play well during their next two games in this group.

This evening the Ghanians take on the minnows Namibia and thyeh should have an easy game and continue topping the group.

Four goals by S. Alloudi athe minnows Namibia no hope of recovering in their first match at the Africa Cup nations Cup in Ghana.

To make matters even more unsound, Sektioui scored from the penalty spot just before half time with the score four goals to one in the Moroccocans favour

AC MILAN CROWNED CHAMPIONS

AC Milan were early this evening crowned the 2007 Champions of the UEFA Champions League after they had beaten Liverpool by two goals to one.

Liverpool missed some good opportunities to take the lead in the first half, however Inzaghi's deflection had Reina beaten and the Italians went off the first half with a cool lead

Liverpool tried hard , but AC Milan did not let them into the game and protected their lead . Inzaghi scored again in the 82nd minute and the Italians went two up . Kuyt scored in the 89th minute to reduced the score to 2 - 1 but this was not enough for the Reds .

Kaka scored in the 11th minute bringing the scores on level after Mancheter had an advantage in the first leg of the semi final. Seedorf scored during the 30th minute and Gilardino cemented the victory with a goal in the 78th minute.

Arsene Wenger's young charges played fairly well thsi weekend and defeated Fulham 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

After Julio Baptista scored the first goal, the young Gunners took the match a little too easy and once the scores were levelled, the Gunners put on a little pressure and two goal were scored to ensure the win. The second goal was scored by Adebayor six minutes before the end of the match when fabergas made a cool pass to him and the three minutes later Gilberto scored from the penalty spot.

This match in fact was the first leg of the semi - finals and the post should have read that Manchester United won first leg of the semi finals and will have to travel to play AC Milan away

A goal in the dying minutes of the match by Wayne Rooney paved the way for Manchester United to book their place in the finals of the UEFA CHampions League

Christiano Ronaldo score in the first five minutes of the game giving Man U an outstanding chance in the game, Kaka reduced the deficit with a brilliant goal during the twenty second minute of the game and fifteen minutes later , he scored his second goal and AC Milan took the lead away from the Red Devils.

Early in the second half of the game, Wayne Rooney scored his first goal of the evening and Manchester United were again on level terms with AC Milan. The match looked doomed for extra time until Rooney came to the rescue of his team and ensure a spot for his team in Greece.
